Over the years, SSRG has had numerous workgroups, such as the selection below:

Carer Issues workgroup

The Carer Issues Workgroup developed a range of resources and raised awareness regarding working with carers in the workplace, post caring and reconnecting.

In Home Services

The In Home Services Workgroup aimed to discuss issues affecting service delivery and ultimately improve outcomes for service users. The workgroup identified areas that needed further development or reform and explored innovative solutions that could be put in to practice. Information and issues raised at the Southern Region Consumer Workgroup were also brought to the In Home Services Workgroup for discussion and action where appropriate.

Social Inclusion Workgroup

The Social Inclusion Workgroup aimed to provide an opportunity for the sharing of information and strategies to work towards better outcomes for service users who are socially isolated. The group explored innovative solutions that could be put in to practice.

Aged Care Pathways workgroup

Significant changes in aged care were implemented 1 November 2015, that included the commencement of the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP), My Aged Care portal and the introduction of the Regional Assessment Service. Organisations had to make significant changes and learn how to work within a new system. The Aged Care Pathways Workgroup aimed to support the successful implementation of the aged care reforms, support service providers during the reform process and identify solutions to address issues of concern.

Southern updates have been added by the Southern Services Reform Group, Aged Care Pathways Workgroup. War Against Loneliness

The War Against Loneliness aimed to inspire, motivate and encourage people to connect, reducing social isolation and loneliness by bringing people together under the one umbrella and with a range of resources and initiatives.

Southern Region Consumer Workgroup

The Southern Region Consumer Workgroup provided regular feedback and discussion for a nominated group of consumers (and carers) of community services within the following council areas – City of Onkaparinga, City of Holdfast Bay, City of Marion and City of Mitcham. The intent was to facilitate community services reform and system improvement through consumer centred solutions. The SSRG linked the consumer voice with Service Providers to provide the avenue for changed practices in the service system.
