Consumer Directed Care - Respite Choices at Helping Hand Aged Care


Respite Choices offers carers of older frail people the opportunity to access flexible respite choices. Staff will work with carers to tailor services to suit their needs and lifestyle. Respite support is flexible and provided by trained staff, enabling the carer to have a break. Our staff understand the needs of older people, including those who have problems associated with memory loss or confusion. Respite choices is available for: Carers of frail older persons who need respite support to continue in your caring role and who live in council areas of Holdfast Bay, Marion and Mitcham.

Overview of the Community Care Common Standards Communications Strategy


As part of a reform agenda to streamline administrative arrangements across community aged care programs and jurisdictions, common standards and common arrangements have been developed for quality reporting processes. The common standards will replace existing standards which currently differ between programs. The common standards will apply to: the Home and Community Care (HACC) Program packaged care programs [Community Aged Care Packages (CACP), Extended Aged Care at Home (EACH) and Extended Aged Care at Home Dementia (EACHD)]; the National Respite for Carers Program (NRCP).
